Children are curious and want to discover the world, so they are accident prone. Many children are taken to the emergency department in hospitals every year. We offer the Red Cross course First Aid to babies and children to help parents and caretakers manage emergencies. Because a kiss on the sore spot isn’t always enough.Subjects in the course
The basic course First Aid to babies and children is a practical course of 7.5 hours. The teacher is a skilled Red Cross First Aid instructor. The language used in this course is English. You learn how to give first aid to babies and children, reanimation and using the AED (Automated External Defibrillator). There are special baby- and child dummies to exercise the new skills.
During the course we deal among other things with reanimation of infants and children, how to treat choking, drowning, disturbances of consciousness, concussion, poisoning, how to take care of wounds, burns and insect stings and bites. Medical knowledge is not required for this course. After completing the course with positive results, you’ll receive a registered Red Cross certificate. Also available for professionals in Childcare
Refresher courses are organised for people who completed the basic course, so they can refresh their knowledge of First Aid to babies and children, and extend the validity of the certificate, which is valid for two years and approved by the Dutch government for daycare professionals and host parents. The refresher course is also available for people who have got an Oranje Kruis certificate.
Many health insurers offer reduction on the price of our course First Aid to babies and children, because they value prevention. Prevention is better than cure! The restitution could be as high as a hundred percent.
In addition to the First Aid course we also provide a course to learn and practice firefighting and evacuation skills. This Emergency Response Course will test your skills in practical situations. Every participant extinguishes a fire by using different fire extinguishers, and learns how to evacuate people from a building. Participants who have mastered their skills successfully, receive the Emergency Response Certificate. For information please call 010 2518988 or send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
